Labor Day Weekend

Warning = another post with a TON of pictures!

As usual we spent Labor Day weekend camping.  This year we changed up the location and went to O'Neil Creek Campground in Chippewa Falls, WI.

The weekend was cool (I'm not complaining!) but we had a blast.  We had a great time with family and our close friends.  Since I have a lot of pictures in this post I will keep the text to a minimum.

To sum it up, the weekend consisted of;
Great company
Grilling
TWO huge campfires
Bike rides
Stroller rides
Family time in the camper
Cuddling with Abby around the fire
Train ride through the campground
Playgrounds
Smores
Deep fried venison, french fries and pizza rolls (hey, I never said we eat healthy)
Bean-Bags
Washer Toss
Catching up
Gossip
Picking out house furnishings (my cousin is doing a full remodel right now!)
Relaxing

And now for the pictures!

Hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend!

4th of July

We spent our 4th of July at the Glen Hills campground.  It was another great weekend of family and camping.  Abby got to use the pool that Joe bought for her -- her first time in a pool and she loved it!  As you can tell by the pictures she spent most of her time eating her pool toys rather than actually playing with them!

I didn’t get as many pictures as I would have liked, not even one of the fireworks!  I can’t believe I didn’t have the camera with to witness Abby’s first fireworks.  She did great!  She sat in her stroller for the first half and then decided that she was hungry.  She watched the rest of the fireworks while daddy fed her a bottle.  Talk about dinner and a show!

Here's a few more pictures from the weekend;

Abby hanging out in the air conditioned camper (yeah, that's how we camp)

I promise to take more (of everybody) next time!

Family Reunion / Father's Day

Finally!  A family reunion!

As the years go by, Joe and I find it more and more difficult to find the time to spend with family.  It's a hard balance of 'your side', 'my side', the great-grandparents, and of course the much needed and often neglected 'our family time'.  I feel like I spend so much time trying to answer the constant "When are you coming again?" that before I know it our summer was spent planning instead of enjoying.  Unfortunately, we find ourselves packing up the car and hitting the road most of the time.  Not that we don't love seeing family, but it gets very hard, not to mention tiring when we never get a weekend to just sit back, relax and enjoy our summer, at our house.  Maybe I'm sounding a bit greedy but summer's half over and we have YET to spend a weekend at home.  I guess that's the price we pay for moving away to another state…

So, when my cousin suggested that we start having a family reunion every year on Father's Day weekend, I was relieved!  No more planning for me!  No more answering the when, who and where questions!  All I have to do is mark this weekend on the calendar every year -- that's the easy part!  Yes, it's a weekend away from home, but it's a weekend spent with the WHOLE family, everyone together at the same place at the same time!  Everyone’s happy -- I’m happy.

The weekend went by fast but we had a great time!  Lots of games, great food, wonderful conversation, relaxing and most importantly, our FATHER'S!

 Just us...

 Abby and Grandpa E.

I can’t wait until next year!  Have I mentioned that I LOVE camping!

Labor Day weekend

I know it's been quite some time since I have updated our blog so here's a quick recap of our camping trip last Labor Day weekend.  Most of you know that I'm not much of a summer person but one thing I do love is the camping!  This isn't really what most people would consider "camping" but we sure do know how to make it fun!

A few pics of the family playing Tippy Cup...

A few relay games are never out of the question...

Next year could be very interesting with our little one running around, and I promise to take more pictures!
