It's pumpkin carving time!

Check out these mad skills!

Can you guess who carved the two angry pumpkins?
Your choices are;
a. the two pregnant ladies
b. their husbands

If you guessed "b", you're right.  Maybe they're trying to tell us something...

Also, thank you so much to Joe's wonderful grandma for growing us some great pumpkins!  Muah!

Tis the Season!

No, not Christmas, it’s still fall which means it’s PUMPKIN PATCH time! Who doesn’t LOVE this time of year?

Last weekend Joe’s brother Matt, along with his family, and sister Jenny came over to Menomonie for the baby shower and we couldn’t send them home without a trip to the Pleasant Valley Tree Farm. Unfortunately, we were a little late for the fall colors but it was still a gorgeous day outside. We spent the afternoon on the Spooky Ridge Trail, going down the 80 foot Spooktacular slide, losing Bradin in the corn maze, watching the Jack-o-launcher, jumping in the bounce houses, playing on the straw stack play areas and ending the afternoon with a hayride (even though there wasn’t any hay on the wagon - lucky for me!)

All in all, it was a fantastic afternoon!

We weren't on this actual hayride but you get the point!

Baby Shower for Baby Bjelland!

Last weekend my mom and sisters threw me and our little one a baby shower! It was such a beautiful day and to top it off I got to enjoy spending a few hours with all of my friends and family. I’m sure they had a great time seeing how big I have gotten too! We played a few games, opened the lovely presents from everyone, had a delicious lunch and before I knew it, the shower was over.

Joe, Baby B and I received so many nice gifts in which we spent most of the week putting away or assembling and now it’s just a waiting game for when I can start using them. My excitement for this little one to arrive is more than I can put into words; the reality has now begun to sink in! These last 7 weeks are going to creep by…

Here's a few pictures from the shower!

Labor Day weekend

I know it's been quite some time since I have updated our blog so here's a quick recap of our camping trip last Labor Day weekend.  Most of you know that I'm not much of a summer person but one thing I do love is the camping!  This isn't really what most people would consider "camping" but we sure do know how to make it fun!

A few pics of the family playing Tippy Cup...

A few relay games are never out of the question...

Next year could be very interesting with our little one running around, and I promise to take more pictures!

One thing down…a MILLION to go…

Joe and I finally picked out and ordered our crib last night! Luckily Joe and I have the same taste in most things so it’s not about finding one we both like, it’s more about finding one that’s right for us and most importantly safe for the soon to be little one in our life.
After some thought, and already having two dressers in working condition in the previous guest room we decided to stick with the ones we have instead of purchasing the whole bedroom set. Yes it would be nice to have a matching set but to us, restoring the old furniture just makes more sense when we are talking about little munchkins running around with markers and crashing their trucks, tractors and/or doll buggies into them. It makes it easier for mommy to deal with the minor (hopefully not major) scratches and dings that are bound to happen! Until they are old enough to take care of their stuff, the old set it is! Now we just need to figure out what color to paint or stain (or both) the dressers. Ah the decisions! All for someone who really could care less!

Any ideas anyone?

The crib should arrive in about 7-14 days, which seems like forever when you are ready to start setting up the nursery! On a good note, that gives us time to take the current bed down, figure out where we are going to store everything that was in that room and start painting away! Oh, a medium chocolate color was our final decision, it’s called Teddy Bear! Fitting isn’t it?!

“Due Date” time is quickly sneaking up on us so until then, happy painting, cleaning and organizing…!

The perfect way to end summer

I know, it’s not quite the end of summer yet but last weekend Joe and I marked the end of our ‘busy’ time of summer. From now until Labor Day and the start of the Gopher football season we finally have some free weekends. Well when I say free, I mean staying home and starting on the baby’s room and getting the house re-organized for when our little one arrives. Ok, back to the perfect way to end summer...

Last weekend marked the 4th annual get-together at our friend’s family cabin. This is a weekend that Joe and I love to see come and hate to see go. Unfortunately (and maybe somewhat planned) I didn’t take out my camera the entire weekend. I’ve been slacking a bit - or a lot - on capturing our 2010 summer as I am trying very hard not to be in any pictures! Being 5-6 months pregnant in this humidity is not something I want to capture and treasure forever, trust me I won’t forget it!

Anyways to give you an idea of how we spent the weekend hanging out with friends, going for pontoon/boat rides, swimming, tubing, playing games, eating and just plain relaxing, I have added a few pictures from the previous years for you to envy! ;-)
