The Great Minnesota Get Together

Usually I dread this time of year.  That time of year = the Minnesota State Fair.

Joe loves it and would go every day if he could.  Me on the other hand, well - it's hot, it's crowded, it's dirty, smelly, poop everywhere (from the animals) and lastly food that smells so good but makes you sick and guilty after you eat it.  But I force myself to go because like I said, Joe loves it.

Well this year was different.  Maybe it was the fact that we went in the morning so the crowd wasn't as bad and it was cool and a tiny bit rainy but mostly it was because Abby was with.

This year, I loved it.

I loved watching her eyes light up when we saw all the bright lights, heard the loud music and how she got so excited every time she reached for an animal to pet.

My favorite - watching Joe and Abby LOVE everything about the fair TOGETHER.  They enjoyed it, and I enjoyed watching them enjoy it.

Here's the proof;

She waved at EVERYONE and EVERYTHING

First taste of chocolate milkshake - (I know, bad mom & dad)

Out for a two hour nap!

Up in time for the parade!

Grandpa B - check out my new ride!

and this one too!

If that's not proof enough - we went again!  This time Aunt Chelsey was with!  (Sorry Chels, we must not have taken any pictures with you...next time!)

So tired...

Grandpa E - she's ready and waiting for one of her own! ;-)

Oh dear....

Feeding the chickens - and gathering eggs

Practicing to help out on the Bjelland farm(s)

Time to head home...

See you next year!

It's begun!

The city finally came through and the digging has been done!  The footings are down as well as the block.

Up next - floor joists!

I can't believe how fast this is going...!

First Twins game!

Abby's first Twins game was back in early August.  I can't even remember who they played and I'm pretty sure we won (but I could be wrong).  Good thing I wrote it all down on her "My First Game" certificate and it is safely stored away in her baby book. :-)

Abby did pretty well at the game - for only being 9 months at the time.  I think she enjoyed looking at all the people and the lights the most.  Unfortunately, she ended up sick that night - so she looks a little tired in these photos.  Also, pay no attention to the HUGE twins shirt she has on.  The only one left (that wasn't in pink - I'm not a fan of pink sports gear) was size 18 months.  Yep, twice her size.  So as you will see, she has a lot of 'off the shoulder" action going on!

Pointing out that the Twins are winning.

Couldn't quite make it through the whole game

All in all - it was a good night!
