Ok, really it's called the Pleasant Valley Tree Farm.  You may remember my post about this same place last year.  If not you can read it here.  Times have changed a little since then.  Abby was able to enjoy it with us this year.  She's still a bit young for most of the activities which means every year it will be more and more fun for her to go.  Unfortunely Joe was not able to go with us as he was working hard to cross off some of the line items on our house To-Do list but you can bet we took plenty of pictures to share!

Abby’s 10 month update!

• Weight = 18lbs 5oz

• Length = 28.5"
• Wears 9-12 month clothing (depending on if it’s long sleeve and pants, then she needs bigger sizes)
• In size 3 diapers

• Size 3 shoes

• Goes to bed around 8:30 and up around 6:30-7.
• Down to only a couple bottles a day!
• Starting to share meals with mom and dad.  Yeah for table food!

• LOVES pancakes and Cheerios

• Likes her sippy cup of water

• Loves to walk along the furniture.  She would rather stand than crawl.

• Does very well playing by herself.

• Still babbles all the time. We have no idea what she is saying so we just nod along and answer with “Really?!” a lot.  Although we are starting to pick out a few words.

• She is very ticklish, especially under her chin and on her belly
• Gives lots of hugs and super wet kisses
• She is starting to point at everything

• Will relax in the chair with dad and watch a little TV (I think that the only time I see either of them sitting still...)

• Hums and dances when she hears music.  Her dancing consists of bouncing up and down on her cute little rump.

• Claps and says "Yea"

• Loves being read too.  (But what child doesn't!)

Words: (I'm starting this section because she is saying lots of words already.  Although, I'm not sure I am going to count them as actual first words in her baby book until I think she is really understanding what she is saying.  Until then, here is the running list of words she says on a regular basis);

NO

Da-Da (yeah, still no Ma-Ma -- even after everything I went through! Little turkey.)

Ball (Ba)

Book (Seriously!  She's even pointed at one when she's said it.  It sounded more like Ba-K.  She said it a few times but I haven't gotten her to say it again.  I'll remove it from the list next time if I think it was just a fluke)

Dog (sounds more like 'doo' with a little 'g' sound after it.)

Do-Do (ok, that's not really a word but she says it the most when she talks to her Aunt Chelsey...ha!)

*notice how they are all "D" and "B" sounds....trust me, I'm working on the "M"...

So it's been a long time since I have posted anything so here's a quick update on the house progress;

Oh yeah, the minus one window.  The garage roof needed to be changed a little to avoid future water damage down the side of the house along with the possibility of ice damns.  The roof now ties into the house a little higher which meant we needed to get rid of the side window in the 4th bedroom.  You can look back at the other pictures to see what I mean.  I was sad, but after thinking more about it we've gained a whole wall back for furniture and we've avoided one more northwest facing window.  (Those ones can get pretty cold in these Minnesota winters!)  Not to mention it's one less window treatment I have to worry about and pay for!

We've also started on the cabinets!  The stain color is so pretty.  I can't wait to see it on the finished cabinets!  We went with Traditional Cherry stain on Alder wood.  A huge thanks to Kevin, Joe and my dad for all their hard work this past weekend on the kitchen and to our friend Jake for helping Joe finish insulating the garage.  I'm SO, SO lucky to be surrounded by such handy men!  You can bet we will be throwing one heck of a house warming party to help say THANK YOU to everyone that has helped!

One more week until Joe and I start painting....again, yuck.
